President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that the Ukrainian authorities firmly oppose any attempts to profit from the war. He said that the country not only does not make money from the aid it receives but also actively punishes those who try to abuse it.

Details: The president stressed that most international assistance to Ukraine is provided through weapons, not money. He stated that the Ukrainian authorities would respond firmly to any attempts to misuse the aid.
Quote: “Where we saw risks that something could be a weapon, we would slap everyone’s hands. And believe me, this is not only about Ukraine. We did not profit from the war. If we found someone, believe me, we slapped everyone’s hands, and we did that and will continue to do so.”
Details: Zelenskyy also noted that spreading disinformation is another problem that undermines Ukraine’s credibility and makes it difficult to get support from international partners.
Quote: “When someone says that Ukraine was selling weapons – and, by the way, Russia was the one pushing this narrative – we always responded: our soldiers would kill such people with their own hands, without any trial. Do you honestly think anyone could steal weapons by the truckload when we ourselves don’t have enough on the front lines? And yet, we have to provide proof to defend ourselves. Because when there’s an abundance of such misinformation, distrust starts to grow. Therefore, believe me, we are fighting more against disinformation than against particular cases (of arms sales – ed.).”
