The White House reiterated its call for the US Congress to hurry with the approval of additional funding for Ukraine on Monday 18 December, warning that the current funds will be enough for only one package of military assistance before the end of the year.

Details: Kirby said the US plans to announce another military aid package to Ukraine by the end of December.
“When that one is done … we will have no more replenishment authority available to us,” he added, referring to the fact that these packages of military assistance were allocated from American warehouses, and the funds were directed to replenish them.
The White House official once again urged Congress to approve US President Joe Biden’s request without delay, with additional funding for national security needs, including assistance for Ukraine.
He reiterated that the majority of the funding continues to be invested in American defence companies that manufacture the weapons required by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Earlier, Pentagon Comptroller Michael McCord alerted the heads of pertinent US Congress committees that the agency only has funds to continue supplying military aid to Ukraine only until 30 December.
In October, the White House requested that the US Congress authorise more funding, including over US$60 billion for Ukraine. However, because of differences in opinion between the two parties regarding border security with Mexico, the decision on funding is yet to be made by the Senate.
However, the US Senate and Congress in general are unlikely to pass new border security restrictions by the end of the year, which are crucial for the allocation of billions of dollars in aid to Ukraine.
