Zelenskyy appoints ex-Commander-in-Chief’s deputy as commissioner for security guarantees

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has established the position of Special Commissioner for the Implementation of International Security Guarantees and the Development of Ukraine’s Armed Forces within the President’s Office, and appointed Yevhen Moisiuk to it.

Details: According to the decrees, the position of Special Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for the Implementation of International Security Guarantees and the Development of Ukraine’s Armed Forces was created within the structure of the President’s Office.

Lieutenant General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yevhen Moisiuk was appointed to this position after previously serving as deputy to the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valerii Zaluzhnyi, losing his position as part of the military leadership reboot initiated by Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Moisyuk was the commander of the Air Assault Forces from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, he served as the Airborne Forces’ deputy commander.

The Pentagon, commenting on the changes in Ukraine’s military leadership, reiterated the United States’ readiness to cooperate with the new Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine’s Armed Forces.

The European Commission has stated that the European Union’s support for Ukraine will remain unchanged after the resignation of Valerii Zaluzhnyi, former Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
