Details: “General debate at the UN General Assembly will start on 24 September, US President Joe Biden is to make a speech there on the same day. The next day, on 25 September, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, will make a speech,” Voice of America reports.

It is expected that the gathering of world leaders in New York will be used as an opportunity to negotiate with the partners of Ukraine about the Russian war against Ukraine.

British representatives noted that the meetings of the leaders, who will gather at the UN General Assembly in September, will be the place where key issues regarding the further support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression will be coordinated.

Specifically, this is about the permission of a range of countries, which supply Ukraine with long-range weapons, to use these weapons against targets deep in Russian territory, from where Russian launches bloody and destructive strikes on Ukrainian cities.

David Lammy, UK Foreign Secretary, who visited the city of Kyiv together with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on 11 September, and visited Washington with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on 13 September, states that the discussion of the main topics “will continue at the General Assembly in a broader circle”.

Last week Bloomberg reported that the Western permission for Ukraine to launch long-range attacks on Russia was unlikely to be approved before the UN General Assembly.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated back at the end of August that in September he may hold a meeting with US President Joe Biden during the UN General Assembly.
